About You

You are an enthusiastic, talented, and automation-minded DevOps engineer joining DRIVR’s product and engineering team. You will be responsible for developing future cloud infrastructures as well as taking care of our current client operations serving over 10.000 active IoT devices in the field producing millions of data points every day. You will have a key role in securing the performance and stability of DRIVR’s production environments for the company’s next-generation API products.

What you’ll do

As our future DevOps Engineer you’ll be working hand-in-hand as part of our product and engineering team to build a leading IoT platform targeting developers in corporate category leaders (e.g. machine or building technology producers). Our international team works quickly, producing high-quality code and API-first features. A key part of your role will be to keep the platform healthy, performant and available. With your strong track record in server-side development, your experience with DevOps and the joy of solving impactful challenges you are responsible for a rock-solid operation of our platform allowing us to scale quickly, run smoothly and be available >99,9% of the time. You will be working with Kubernetes Clusters, Kafka Event Pipelines, Prometheus-based Monitoring solutions, CI-/CD-Pipelines and Service Meshes as well as Programming languages like Python and Golang.

What you’ll need

• You have a background in Computer Science or Software Engineering and 3–5 year of professional working experience in a similar position 
• You have solid experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
• You are experienced in container orchestration using  Kubernetes  and  Docker
• You have experience in streaming and distributed systems and have knowledge in Kafka 
• You have experience with deploying and operating secure and highly available microservice-based systems across multiple data  centers 
• You are familiar with automation and configuration management tools 
• You have setup and used migration, monitoring and logging tools for your infrastructure
• Proficiency operating with at least one Cloud-IaaS provider is required (e.g. Azure, GCP, AWS). You should be willing to also look into operating clusters on other providers. We aim for being cloud-agnostic!
• You have strong expertise in Linux environments, including shell/Python scripting, networking, and security
• It is a plus if you’ve worked previously at a Cloud/IoT company
• You worked previously in agile teams and have some understanding of Kanban and/or Scrum processes 
• You are passionate and curious about new technologies, enjoy working in a multicultural environment, and possess good communication skills
